My Birthday

I was raised in the spirit of being a nice, submissive girl. One who followed all the rules of a traditional immigrant family from Asia. My family is amazing, but they too were stuck in a round-about of “doing.”
💗
When I wanted to dance, or travel alone or explore the edges of life, I was told it was a “phase.” Then came adulthood. Here is where it felt the most surreal. Be a lawyer. Get married. Have kids. Smile. Live happily ever after.
💗
Living by someone else’s rules never felt right. Society’s “shoulda” are the death of the soul. It has taken years for me to reclaim the goddess within.
💗
Here is one thing I know for sure: It’s worse to stay where one doesn’t belong then to wander about lost for a while.
💗
Today, I celebrate and honor the birth of this incarnation. I am in awe of where my curious wild woman soul has brought me. I trust this inner voice with all my heart. I stand. I love. I live. I learn. I believe. I earn. I BE. Remember, love, in its purest form, is the absence of judgment.

Just when you think there is an ending, it’s just another beginning.

💗
With fierce grace I will always protect my soulful life. I cherish the sweet “good girl” inside of me as much as I embrace the wild, rebellious leader. I have no one to prove my worth to. This is me. Happy Birthday. I am so proud you let let this life happen to you.
💗
All the ‘not readies’ all the ‘I need time’, are understandable, but only for a short while. The truth is that there is never a “completely ready” or a right time. Jump. The net will appear. Your life is anxiously waiting.

One love.💗
