We are back. And nothing is the same.
We just got back from Peru. 13 of us!
And I am still integrating.
That is the thing about pilgrimage ... you do not just unpack your bags and pick up where you left off. Something in you has shifted, and it takes time to find words for it.
This was not a vacation. It never is with Peru. It is something else entirely.
The Sacred Valley is ALIVE....you can feel the Earth in her full power. Lake Titicaca, an intense vortex of the feminine energy, brought things to the surface that had been waiting to be felt. Machu Picchu reminded us that humans once built in devotion to the cosmos, to the knowing that we are more than we think we are.
What I witnessed on this pilgrimage was not perfection. It was humanity. Full, beautiful, messy humanity.
Women laughing until they cried. Holding each other through fear, exhaustion, joy, grief, awe, and expansion. Moments of real discomfort followed by unexpected breakthroughs. Nervous systems softening. Hearts opening. Walls falling away.
The Andean people speak of ayni, which means sacred reciprocity. The understanding that healing happens in relationship: with the earth, with spirit, with community, and with ourselves.
No one in our group left the same. Not because Peru fixes you. Intentional and sacred pilgrimage create the conditions for something more genuine to emerge.
It is one of the greatest honors of my life to hold these experiences. Not from above the group ....but walking right beside them. Witnessing. Listening and remembering alongside them.
And every single time, it changes me too.
More to share soon. But for now... we are home, we are full, and we are deeply grateful.
xo,
Priya
